- Publish annals of steel statistics and special steel statistics.
- International relations with worldwide steel industry
- Research on import and export trend in steel industry and foreign market trend.
- Seek international cooperation with steel industries in major areas such as China, Japan and South East Asia.
- Strengthen ties with international organizations such as World Steel Association.
- Green Growth and technical cooperation
- Build counter plan for UN Climate Change Convention.
- Seek for expanding ways to recycle by-products.
- Hold technical conventions and interchange associations.
- Research and provide information on statistics related to production capacity, facility investment, and energy.
- Develop human resources and operate education programs
- Operate Steel Industry Human Resources Development Consultative Body.(consists of business, academic and research sectors)
- Manage Steel Industry Training Innovation Center
- Conduct specialized training courses for different areas of steel industry
- Improve the image of steel industry
- Hold commemoration events on Steel Day (commemoration ceremony, marathon etc.)
- Hold New Year celebration.
- Hold workshops to stabilize labor-management relations.
