friendship between the members by strengthening the competitiveness of

- Forming public opinion and support policies in steel industry

- Determine difficulties of members in such areas as trade, environment and tax system and reflect them on policies
- Policy improvement activities to protect and promote domestic steel market
- Support exports against the trade regulations
- Support activities for establishing and legislating steel-friendly policies
- Hold meetings and seminars according to industrial classification and fields
- Support activities for strengthening professionality of steel committees
- Enhance the eco-friendly characteristic of steel
- Research and conduct trend analysis of domestic and foreign steel industry

- Forecast supply and demand of steel products and survey raw material trends

- Publish Steel Statistical Yearbook
- International relations with worldwide steel industry

- Operate international cooperation conference with China and Japan
- Seek international cooperation with steel industries in South East Asia
- Attend international conference such as OECD steel committee
- Environmental energy and technical standard activities

- Hold technical conventions for each steel sector
- Research and provide information on statistics related to production capacity, facility investment, and energy
- Support for national standardization through the operation of COSD(Co-operation Organization for Standards Development)
